Academic Achievement

New initiatives

This academic year witnessed the introduction of several forward looking programmes. The parent engagement programmes conducted for the parents of Grades PreKG to II std saw a good response. Parents enthusiastically participated in the Janmashtami celebrations with chanting and Garba dance. The parents also took part in the week long Dasara celebrations which saw a huge dolls display along with chanting of shlokas and distribution of Prasad to the entire school.

Bagless day

Bagless day was a huge success with students learning outside the routine of classroom and books. Several activities were planned by the teachers to teach/revise concepts already taught, in different ways

Enrichment Programmes

Class wise magazines were released every month with Grades V_X having completed the release so far. The creative and artistic talent of the students came alive in these magazines.

Yet another initiative this year has been to dedicate the academic year as “No late coming year”. I am glad to say that parents took it seriously and late coming has come down by nearly 90%. We sincerely thank the parents for this.

Maithry Vidyanikethan also witnessed another addition to the year long programmes. This is the Kaya Kalp yoga training for students of grades 9th and 10th. This programme is designed to channelize the excess energy of these teenagers into positive thinking and energy _a worthy initiative by our management.

On the academic front, the Infinity class- Foundation course for advanced training for competitive exams, has been extended to grades 6th -8th also in addition to grades 9th and 10th .Regular monitoring of these classes after school is done by teachers, and parents are regularly kept informed about their ward’s performance in the tests.

Introducing Chess classes right from Grade I has brought encouraging feedback from all parents. It is amazing to see the little ones of Grades I and II seriously march to their chess class as per their time schedule and play with all seriousness. Chess competitions were conducted as part of the sports activities and prizes declared.

Sports and Physical Education

The inter house sports competitions saw the enthusiastic participation of the students from secondary grade vying with one another for the ultimate trophy.

The pre-primary students had their own sports day along with Grades I and II and winning their well-deserved medals.

Cultural programmes were presented with full vigour on the occasion to entertain the parents. After school sports coaching continues to draw the students who rarely miss a day rain or shine.

Karate classes have also seen an enrolment of nearly 120 students.

Academic Performance

Coming to the academic achievements, our students of std X 2024-2025 batch as usual did extremely well in the board exams. Nearly 23 students out of 102 achieved more than 90% with the highest score being 95.8%. Two students in Sanskrit and one student in Kannada scored centum ie 100% and have also been awarded by the Sahodaya Schools complex of Bangalore. Continuous assessment and remedial programs contribute to the improved performance across all grades. The school maintained its tradition of excellence with many passed out students securing admissions into prestigious medical and engineering colleges.

Community Outreach Programmes

Maithry Vidyanikethan has also taken up various community outreach programmes to instil civic education in the students. The annual ITC paper recycling programme held in July saw a collection of whopping five thousand nine hundred and thirty four kilograms of paper. I sincere thank the parents for their enthusiastic response. The recycling warriors with maximum contribution were awarded medals and certificates. The annual Metric Mela saw the students of Grades 7th -10th putting up stalls with delicious homemade food items , games , mehndi art, sale of dresses, knick knacks and garnering a profit of nearly 35,000/- to be used for a noble cause. The Students Led Movement by students of grade 8th saw the students take a rally to raise awareness on Plastic Pollution.

Student Enrichment Programmes

The student enrichment programmes like class wise assembly, oratorical, recitation ,shloka chanting and solo singing competitions along with yoga saw a huge number of participants. The SLC (Student Led Conference) conducted for Grades I-V had 100% participation of students and nearly 95% of parent’s attendance.

The Young Engineers program by Star Innovators is a big hit with students where they learn science through Do It yourself models and projects. The feedback from parents encourages us to do more such activities.

The LEAD championship programme saw around 500 students registering of which 32 students were selected for the District level competition held at Coimbatore on 15th December. It is also of pride to us that our school won the National award last year and was awarded by LEAD group for the same. It also gives me pleasure to inform that nearly 300 students from grades 1-10 took part in the Olympiads in different subjects.

Celebrations of all festivals both religious and national, helped students identify with the culture of our country.

Special Achievements

Our students have made the school proud with their special achievements in various inter-school competitions.

Neha.S of Grade VI needs special applause and appreciation for the exceptional performance in swimming winning nearly 77 medals and 5 trophies in the course of the last 6 months in both CBSE and other inter school competitions.

We also appreciate the efforts of MV Shobit of Grade 8th whose project was one among 30 selected for the science exhibition in the planetarium. Kudos also to the 3 young achievers who have been shortlisted for the CBSE story telling competition based on curricular concepts.

Staff Enrichment Activities

A schools’ success and progress is interlinked with the staff of the school. At Maithry utmost importance is given to faculty development in various fields. Through the training, the management ensures that the teachers are well informed on the latest pedagogical practices in line with the requirements of CBSE.
